- In honor of the one-year anniversary of the LGBTQ Caregiver Center, the organization’s creators remind us of the challenges caregivers face on a daily basis. âThe pandemic has worsened the challenges that caregivers already face, including social isolation and poor mental health,” said founder Jennifer Henius. “We need our community to step up and support them, but we also need to recognize that our caregiver population is diverse with unique needs.” The LGBTQ Caregiver Center currently serves as an online resource hub, offers cultural competency training, hosts an online LGBTQ caregiver peer support group, and holds webinars with expert speakers to raise awareness about LGBTQ issues and concerns.
