According to the Tanahun Drinking Water and Sanitation Division, 15% of Tanahun district residents do not have access to drinking water.
While 85 percent of the district’s population has access to clean water, 15 percent does not, according to Bamdev Poudel, the office’s engineer and information officer.
Poudel added that the Gandaki Provincial government has set a goal of reaching every household in the district through the one house, one tap initiative.
The program is being carried out in the district’s rural regions with a focus on lifting drinking water projects, according to Division chief Rajendra Neupane.
According to Neupane, the district is now undertaking 74 drinking water projects that use lifting technology.
The majority of the villages are supplied with drinking water by pumping water from rivers and streams, he added.d streams, he added.
