The mafia hitman from Rochester has been taken back into federal custody. He had been in a halfway house in Florida when he failed to return from an authorized medical appointment. The 64-year-old mobster, Dominic Taddeo, was convicted of racketeering for his participation in The Rochester Crime Family and murdering three people during mob wars. U.S. Marshals Service from the Southern District of Florida and the Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force took him back into custody at 11 am on Monday, April 4, 2022, in Hialeah, Florida.
With only a year left on his sentence, Taddeo was in federal custody in Orlando, Florida. He had been released to the facility after previously being locked up at a medium-security federal prison in Florida. He failed to return on March 28 and was listed as “escaped” on the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons’ website.

In 1992, Taddeo pleaded guilty to killing Nicholas Mastrodonato, Gerald Pelusio, and Dino Tortatice in 1982 and 1983. He fatally shot them.
