A boil water advisory was issued for the area on Sept. 9. The boil water advisory was lifted on Monday and all testing since has returned a negative result, according to the city. The city said no other water supplies across the city have tested positive for E. coli. According to a news release issued by the city, E. coli contamination can be caused by runoff water entering the water source, such as rain, or a break in the distribution system such as broken pipes. Contamination can also happen when a failure occurs in the water treatment process.
