A boil-water order has been issued for a portion of Myrtle Street until further notice.
Jacksonville Municipal Utilities said the precautionary measure is for houses between East Lafayette and East Independence avenues.
Bottled water should be used for consumption, such as drinking or for food preparation, and tap water should be brought to a full rolling boil for one minute and allowed to cool before use.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tap water should not be used for brushing teeth and caution should be taken to avoid swallowing water while bathing or showering.
