The Base Line overpass in Highland was reopened Saturday morning, Feb. 12, after crews worked through the night to clear flooding from a water main breach, a Cal Fire official said..
The breach occurred around 4 p.m. on Base Line at the westbound 210 freeway on-ramp, according to officials. The water was shut off at 5 p.m., but freeway lanes were closed in both directions while a damage assessment was underway.
By 8 p.m., all freeway lanes had reopened.
The 12-inch water main was breached in two places. The cause of the breach remained unclear Saturday morning.
There were no water quality concerns Friday evening, according to a tweet from the East Valley Water District.
