All measures will be taken in Bhopal to provide better transport facilities to citizens, to make the city green, and for better arrangement of drinking water and cleanliness. Provision of funds for different schemes will contribute to the measures.
A roadmap for the five year development of Bhopal will be presented soon, he added. Union government has given consent for the construction of new flyovers in Bhopal said Chouhan.
Chouhan said that the corporators and other public representatives should set the example of public service with humility. Chouhan assured the Bhopal Municipal Corporation would be provided necessary financial assistance for development works by the state government.
Public transport
Alongside metrorail construction, transport facilities are set to be enhanced in the state capital. Chouhan said that he has got several flyovers sanctioned for Bhopal in a recent meeting with Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari.
Several flyovers are proposed, including Bhopal Haat Chouraha near Shaurya Smarak to 6 Number Bus Stop, ISBT to Gautam Nagar, Ayodhya bypass road to Karond Chouraha, Behind T.T. This includes the cable car. Chouhan said that work related to Metro train is in progress, where the operation of the metro will make transport easier for the increasing population.
The use of CNG in place of diesel and petrol will be the priority for the operation of vehicles, so that the environment of the city is also not affected adversely.
