Those who depend on the city of Caseville for their tap water are currently under a boil water advisory.
A water main leak along Main Street in Caseville prompted the advisory on Monday morning. The affected areas include the city of Caseville, Caseville Township, the village of Pigeon, and the Sand Point area.
Troy Hartz, the Caseville Department of Public Works supervisor told the Tribune Monday that repairs should be completed by the end of the day.
“Once we get repairs done, we’ll do samples for a couple of days to make sure that the water is safe before lifting the boil water advisory,” Hartz said.
Hartz said the water sampling will start this afternoon and that two 24-hour tests with good results are required for the advisory to be lifted.
The Centers for Disease Control state that those under a boil water advisory should either boil tap water for one minute before using or use bottled water instead.
