CTCE-constructed Mbanza Congo Water Supply System Enhancement Project in Safe Operation for 900 Days
As of April 18, the urban water supply system enhancement project in Mbanza Congo, Angola, which was undertaken by the construction company of China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group (CTCE), had been operating safely for 900 days.
The water supply system consists of a water intake pumping station, a water purification plant, two high level pools, transmission pipelines and public water access project. The project began construction on February 14, 2017, and was completed on October 30, 2019. According to the contract, the construction team will be responsible for the maintenance of the water supply facilities for 36 months after completion of the project, which will be officially handed over to local authorities on October 30 this year.
During the facility maintenance period, CTCE’s construction company arranged three Chinese employees to work and live at the water plant and join the 10 Angolan trainees from the local water company to maintain the facilities and ensure stable and healthy operation of the water supply system. Their excellent operation capability and high-quality service guaranteed the uninterrupted around-the-clock supply of clean and hygienic water for domestic use, ensured stable supply of safe drinking water for more than 15,000 households, and greatly improved the living conditions of local people, earning universal praise from the local water company and citizens alike.
