The Certified Workloading Specialist course on Monday, October 10, will help attendees set up a workloading strategy that can rebuild their current cleaning culture to one of efficiency, innovation, balanced workload, and high-performance thinking. The goal of workloading is to provide a mathematical and factual basis for stated custodial staffing levels in relation to customer and management expectations of clean.
Environmental services (EVS) specialists will want to check out several workshop opportunities. Participants will be guided through the 16 individual modules included in the PECP. The workshop teaches participants strategies for effective communication, staff development, and implementation of U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. All-day education
In addition to the workshops, the ISSA Show will host over 70 education sessions taught by more than 50 guest speakers. Monday, October 10, offers a full day of education, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purchase an all-assess pass to choose from a variety of sessions in several tracks suitable for facility managers, building service contractors (BSCs), environmental services (EVS) staff, and housekeeping employees. For instance, in the Environmental, Social Responsibility & Governance (ESG) Track, check out the session titled “The Future of Sustainability for the Cleaning Industry.” ISSA Sustainability Committee Members Bill McGarvey, Dianne Wilson, and Oriana Raabe will share a brief history of sustainability and talk about what the future holds. Bring your pressing sustainability questions to the panel for this interactive session.
In the Facility Operations & Maintenance Track, learn how to choose the standards and frameworks best suited for your company in “So Many Standards, So Little Time.” Speakers Wes Knight and Page Needling will teach attendees the key points to evaluate when comparing standards, to help companies navigate the uncertain and vast standards/frameworks waters.
The Hospitality Track includes classes such as “Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Within Hospitality….A Must Have.” Learn strategies for embracing and providing a welcoming atmosphere for all employees. The speakers will share how having an inclusive culture helps your bottom line.
The Technology and Innovation Track includes a course on indoor air quality, “The ROI of Clean Air.” Learn how organizations from Fortune 1000 companies to airports to schools are now using the science of indoor environments to make data-driven decisions.
Experiencing a labor shortage? Attend “Hiring and Retention in Post Pandemic Times” in the Leadership, Career, and Talent Development Track. This session will provide hiring questions that uncover great talent and suggest strategies to help with your retention efforts. Are you a woman looking to advance in the cleaning industry? Also in this track, you’ll find “Stand in Your Strength: A Women’s Approach to Leadership in the Cleaning Industry”. In this session, speaker Jenean Perelstein will explain how culture teaches women to block or downplay their success and what to do about it.
In the Business Development & Marketing Solutions Track, examine the benefits of business software in “Approaching Technology with Confidence: A BSC growth case study from $1M –$15M.” The speakers will remind participants that—like a mop or a bucket—software is just a tool. Using this tool will help you overcome your businesses’ current and future growth constraints.
The educational sessions continue all the way through Thursday afternoon.
Spotlight speakers
An all-access pass will allow you to see the three keynote speakers. By the end of his session, Kayonga hopes to instill what he calls a “Corporate Moral Aptitude” into the bloodstream of attendees’ organizational cultures, positioning them to succeed in an increasingly multicultural workforce.
