SANFORD, Fla. —

The Seminole County sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect or suspects involved in shooting and killing a man outside of a park in Sanford on Sunday.

The Seminole County sheriff’s office said a man was found shot to death inside a car parked off Roseberry Lane. Several neighbors told us they heard the gunshots and want the city to do something to make this area safer.

“Living here and having something like this happen right next to us, it’s crazy,” neighbor David Jones said.

Jones lives right next to Roseland Park in Sanford.

On Sunday night, he said he was home cleaning his house when he heard a loud bang.

“I thought that maybe it would be something to do with the construction because they’re building a lot of new houses out here, but about 30 minutes later there were a bunch of cops,” Jones said.

According to the sheriff’s office, 30-year-old Kameron Alston was found shot to death inside of a car at the park’s entrance.

Deputies said several witnesses heard the gunfire and then saw another car speed away.

“Worrisome. My wife and I just bought this house in March so,” Jones said.

Jones said he chose to live in the neighborhood because of its proximity to downtown.

He loves the location and thinks Roseland Park is great. He says the issue is the road leading into the park.

“That area is pitch black at night, and it’s a little scary,” Jones said.

Jones said he’s reached out to the city to see if they can install a new streetlight. He believes that could really help in preventing another shooting in the area.

In the meantime, the sheriff’s office continues to search for suspects involved in Alston’s murder.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477, or text to **8477, or call the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office at 407-665-6650.
