Luckily, cleaning and organising pro, Caroline Solomon, shared the things you should always clean when you move home.
First thing’s first, you should pull out the drawers in the kitchen and give them a good wipe.
Even if they look clean, it’s best to be sure the explained.
This includes wiping down the inside of the fridge to get rid of any smells that might have developed while the property was vacant.
Caroline also suggests checking on the filter in your dishwasher, if your new pad has one already there.
Give it a quick rinse with warm soapy water and then chuck it into the dishwasher on a hot setting for a deeper clean.
It’s important to give the oven a deep clean too, the pro shared.
You never know what grim gunk could be lurking the the back from the past owners or tenants.
Next, the cleaning whizz shared that you bathroom is a place where dirt and grime can linger.
It’s best to give the bathtub a good scrub with a sponge and to disinfect your toilet for peace of mind.
While your cleaning your bathroom, check for any damp spots or mould, so they can be fixed before worsening.
You can also disinfect door handles and light switches, even if they look clean there’s no way of knowing who was the last person to touch them.
Caroline shared that people always forget to clean high up vents and dust filters when they move, so give them a once over too.
Finally give the entire place a good hoover to remove dust bunnies from corners.
