DEEP cleaning our homes can feel daunting.
There are so many areas to clean that we often don’t know where to begin.

Well one home cleaning guru named Kami, who goes by @kami_larae on TikTok, said there are a few common household appliances that most people forget to dust off.
She said cleaning these items once a month will keep them in pristine condition.
AIR FILTERS
The first thing you should do each month is change out your air filters.
“These can cause a lot of allergies, especially if you have pets,” Kami explained.
The buildup of dust and pet hair is no good for our lungs either.
WASHING MACHINE
Secondly, Kami said to tackle your washing machine.
To do this, all you need to do is grab one cup of vinegar or one cup of baking soda.
“But don’t use both at the same time or they will cancel each other out.”
Add the liquid or powder to an empty washing load and run the cycle on the hottest setting.
WASHING MACHINE FILTER
Still focusing on the washing machine, you should also clean out the filter inside.
“Make sure you use a towel and a bowl, because the first time I did this I got water everywhere.”
Kami added that it is also important to clean the inside of the machine, as mold and mildew can collect in hidden spots.
DRYER VENT
Once you’ve handled the washing machine, you’ll want to move onto the dryer.
Kami used a bottle cleaning brush that she found at Whole Foods to scrub the vent, as she revealed it worked well for this purpose.
“Don’t forget to clean out your lid trap!” she warned.
COFFEE MAKER
Next, Kami cleaned a product that many of us have likely never rinsed: the Keurig.
This one is really simple: all you need to do is purchase the Keurig cleaning pods and run one through.
DISHWASHER FILTER
Kami then moved on to the dishwasher, pulling out the filter and rinsing it with water.
“These can get pretty gross if you don’t rinse off your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.”
GARBAGE DISPOSAL
At the sink, she used Routine Clean CLR Garbage Disposal Pods to clean out the inside drain.
She said the pods work great to deodorize the disposal.
SINK
Still working on the sink, she then took Power Paste Natural Cleanser to scrub the surface.
“You have to try this stuff, it is amazing. I was shocked at how clean it got my sink.
“I mean, literally all this grey stuff was coming off of it and I had thought it was clean.
“Once I rinsed it off, it looked so shiny and new,” she revealed.
DISHWASHER, SINK, AND SHOWER HEAD
Back at the dishwasher, she added one to two cups of vinegar inside the appliance and ran an empty load.
She took that vinegar and poured two cups down the sink drain as well, and then put some in a Ziploc bag and secured it around the shower head.
SHOWERS
Her final tip was to disinfect your shower.
“While the shower heads are soaking in vinegar, I disinfect the showers.”
She used a mop to scrub down the floors and walls, as she said a mop is “way easier on the knees.”
