KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A boil water advisory is still in affect for some Kalamazoo residents.
The affected areas include:
- Glendale Boulevard: From Onondaga Avenue to Clarnin Street on both sides of the road.
- Random Road: 3528 Random Road
- Excluded areas: The advisory excludes the southeast corner of Onondaga Avenue and Glendale Boulevard, the southeast and southwest corners of Michael Street and Glendale Boulevard, and the northwest corner of Clarnin Street and Glendale Boulevard.
The advisory was put into place on Friday by city officials due to water infrastructure repairs causing a decrease in water pressure that could allow bacteria to flow into the water main. Officials say so far, no tests have confirmed bacteria in the water main.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to use bottled water for consumption or boil tap water for two minutes before consuming.
The advisory is expected to be lifted on Monday, January 17.
