In conjunction with MWC Barcelona 2022 which will be taking place from the 28th of February to the 3rd of March, Tara Neal, Executive Editor of The Fast Mode spoke to Xabier Aláez Sarasibar, CEO and Co-Founder of Inbiot Monitoring S.L. on the company’s plans and showcases for this year’s event.
Tara: What do you think MWC 2022 will be all about? And what are your MWC 2022 plans?
Xabier: MWC Barcelona is the world’s most influential event for the connectivity industry. We will be able to learn about technological progress and the future of connectivity in a post-pandemic world from some of the world’s leading companies.
We are looking forward to networking with influential people in the tech industry. The event is a great opportunity for us to present our solution and proprietary technology for indoor air quality monitoring and to make valuable connections with the top decision makers in the field.
Tara: How has the pandemic impacted the operational and business landscape of the tech segment you are operating in?
Xabier: The pandemic has drawn attention to the built environment, increasing public awareness about the importance of indoor air quality, not only because it affects the possibility of contagion of diseases, but also because it influences our health and well-being.
In order to succeed in this environment, businesses must change the way they build, manage, and design their offices, as well as put in place proven policies and practices to promote the health and wellness of their employees.
The omission of factors that directly affect the quality of air we breathe, such as ventilation, is simply no longer acceptable in buildings.
Tara: What emerging trends/technologies have you observed in your tech segment in recent months?
Xabier: The monitoring sector in general and the indoor air quality solutions in particular are becoming increasingly digitized, incorporating new technologies that greatly expand the capabilities of the solutions in terms of connectivity and integration.
The industry is evolving from hardware-only products to hardware and software solutions, in which SaaS is becoming increasingly important. That is what we offer at inBiot: not only a device but also a strategy of continuous improvement of air quality in indoor spaces, by reporting indoor air quality conditions in real time for decision-making and by being 100% integrable with ventilation systems (HVAC).
