Travelers at the Amtrak train station in Harrisburg will be able to get a free COVID-19 prevention kit that includes at-home tests, face masks and disinfecting wipes.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health said the kits will be distributed from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. to travelers in an effort to “promote safe, healthy travel.”
Pa. Physician General Dr. Denise Johnson is expected to be there at 2 p.m.
The kits include three at-home antigen test kits, fact sheets, hand sanitizer, disposable face masks and disinfecting wipes, according to the Department of Health.
In a news release, Johnson said, “COVID-19 is with us – but we have tools to keep ourselves safe. This effort is one way to remind Pennsylvanians of healthy, preventative habits while also helping to ensure they have access to these tools while traveling.
People should feel comfortable traveling for work or leisure as they explore the commonwealth.”
The Department of Health said the kits were paid for with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant money.
The Amtrak station is at Fourth and Chestnut streets in Harrisburg.
The kits also will be distributed from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, at the Lancaster Amtrak Station.
