Whatcom County urging residents to prepare for wildfire smoke

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Wildfire smoke has become an unfortunate reality during the summer months in the Pacific Northwest and Whatcom County says now is the time to prepare.

Health experts recommend that you stock up on N-95 or other high quality masks.

Fabric or cloth masks do not protect against smoke.

Get filters for your furnace, purifier or box fan and buy an air purifier if you can afford one.

Make plans for indoor activities for kids when air quality is rated unhealthy.

For more information, visit the County’s website.
