MADISON, Wis. – This week, White House Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu visited Milwaukee to highlight how President Biden’s infrastructure law is funding the removal of lead pipes across the state.

“Wisconsin will receive $841 million through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to eliminate lead pipes that can contaminate residents’ drinking water.

“‘The bipartisan infrastructure law will help pick up the pace of this work so that we can replace more lead service lines each and every single year, and allow us to expand our program beyond its current limitations,’ Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said at a press conference Wednesday.”

“‘All across America this work is actually getting done,’ Landrieu said at a news conference Wednesday at a lead pipe replacement work site on the city’s south side.
“The sweeping plan, which Biden signed into law in November, is the largest investment in the country’s infrastructure in decades. It aims to address nearly every aspect of American infrastructure, including water, public transportation, roads, bridges, ports, railways, power and broadband internet.”
