WESTFIELD — Representatives from the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry are coming to Westfield this week to conduct another round of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) data collection through the dust that settles in people’s homes.
The federal ADSTR, in coordination with the Environmental Protection Agency, will conduct the dust sampling June 7-16 from 80 Westfield homes, taking about an hour for each home.
In 20 out of the 80 homes, according to an email from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, indoor air samples will be taken along with bulk dust and wet wipe samples from inside the home, and soil samples from outside the home.
