How to Watch The Cleaning Lady Season 2

September 18, 2022 by Staff Reporter

Get ready for the guns, cash, and blood to flow again in Sin City as The Cleaning Lady returns with the upcoming second season. After first premiering in January 2022, the show quickly became one of the best-performing new series of the year. It’s a testament to the show’s creator Miranda Kwok, who made such an engaging story that has a South-Asian female lead and family at the center of it all. The series also highlights the socially relevant crisis of the treatment of undocumented immigrants and the struggle for healthcare, especially in the US.

The Cleaning Lady was adapted from an Argentine series titled La chica que limpia and follows the story of Thony De La Rosa (Élodie Yung), a former surgeon who moved to Las Vegas from the Philippines. She works hard as a service cleaner while waiting for a bone marrow transplant for her sick son who has an immunodeficiency disorder. Living with her sister-in-law, Fiona (Martha Millan), the two work to make ends meet while carefully dodging the ever-present threat of deportation. Thony’s life is turned upside down when she accidentally crosses paths with a gang led by Arman Morales (Adan Canto). He ends up hiring her to clean up crime scenes in exchange for money and protection. However, an FBI Agent named Garrett Miller (Oliver Hudson) contacts Thony to help him bring down the crime cartel that is led by Arman’s boss. Thony is caught between two sides of the law and a whole new morally gray world that she must navigate carefully for her and her family’s survival.

Watch The Cleaning Lady Season 2 Trailer

Besides a few teasers and short promos for the new season, an official trailer dropped on September 10, 2022. The new footage picks up right where the first season ended with Thony realizing Luca had been taken by Marco. While trying to rescue her son, Thony also has some new ambitions in the pipeline to use Arman’s shared money to build a medical clinic for other undocumented immigrants. The trailer also shows that Arman seems to eventually get out of prison sooner than later and reunites with Nadia and Thony individually. Naveen Andrews’ role is revealed to come in between Arman and Nadia not just professionally but perhaps personally. Additionally, Agent Garrett Miller is still working with Thony and questioning whether she still needs to maintain an alliance with Arman.

What Is The Cleaning Lady Season 2 About?

the-cleaning-lady-elodie-yung-03 Image via Fox

The end of Season 1 saw a shocking cliffhanger that involved Thony coming home to the absence of her son and husband. Things were just beginning to settle down, with Thony even having access to Arman’s money, but now she faces a crisis of potentially losing the one reason for her gutsy and rebellious actions. Read on for the official synopsis of the premiere from the Fox website.

Season Two of THE CLEANING LADY picks up with THONY (Élodie Yung) desperately trying to find her son, LUCA (Sebastien & Valentino LeSalle), after he was kidnapped by his father, MARCO (Ivan Shaw). With nowhere else to turn, she enlists the help of FBI Agent GARRETT MILLER (Oliver Hudson) to track him down before they leave the country. Meanwhile, an incident involving CHRIS (Sean Lew) forces FIONA (Martha Millan) to shield her son by any means necessary, furthering the theme of how far a mother will go to protect her child.

More Crime Dramas like The Cleaning Lady That You Can Watch Now

The intriguing nature of The Cleaning Lady definitely lies with its extraordinary world of crime that a female lead like Thony must not only navigate but also adapt to. The following TV shows and films highlight fearless female protagonists who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty in the world of crime.

Queen of the South (2016 – 2021): This USA Network series ran for five seasons and was an adaption of a Spanish telenovela titled La Reina del sur. The premise follows a woman named Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) who flees her home in Mexico to go to the US. Similar to The Cleaning Lady, Teresa takes matters into her own hands to survive and rise above her struggling conditions by building a drug empire. Along the way, she makes numerous enemies like the Vargas Cartel, balanced with some valuable allies such as James Valdez (Peter Gadiot). Yet, Teresa relies on her mathematical intelligence, resourcefulness, and pacifist leadership to reign as the titular Queen of her drug operation. Besides Teresa being a whip-smart, resilient protagonist like Thony, the brewing romance between her and James also matches the fiery chemistry of Thony and Arman. The series is available on Netflix.

Watch on Netflix

Good Girls (2018 – 2021): Another series that focuses on mothers who get involved with crime, Good Girls follows Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta), and Annie (Mae Whitman), who all live in Michigan. The trio of mothers all face their own challenging hardships concerning finances, child custody, and even unfulfilling marriages. With all of them having enough of these struggles, they band together to rob a supermarket. Only after their successful heist do they realize the bigger problem at hand, which is the attention of a gang led by a money-laundering boss named Rio (Manny Montana). The tight-knit dynamic of the three female leads is very similar to The Cleaning Lady’s duo of Thony and Fiona. Both shows capture the themes of hardworking mothers and the importance of female friendships. The NBC series ran for four seasons and is now available to stream on Netflix.

Watch on Netflix

Widows (2018): Steve McQueen brought a powerhouse cast together for his 2018 heist thriller drama. Following the mysterious death of her husband Harry (Liam Neeson), Veronica (Viola Davis) discovers his involvement with crime that included a $2 million robbery that he committed with a group of men. Upon learning that the stolen money belonged to a powerful crime boss and aspiring politician, Jamal Manning (Brian Tyree Henry), Veronica is forced to pay the debt through a new heist. She recruits the widows of the men who were involved with Harry’s robbery, which includes Linda (Michelle Rodriguez), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), and Belle (Cynthia Erivo). The gripping story shares the same themes as The Cleaning Lady, with female protagonists who take an ambitious chance to resolve their helpless situations of financial struggle. They all adapt to this dangerous world and fight to take back what is theirs. The remarkable film can be streamed on DirecTV and is available for purchase on Apple TV or Google Play.

Samsung Bespoke Jet review: powerful cleaning at a cost

Samsung Bespoke Jet review: aesthetic, powerful cleaning at a cost

MSRP $900.00

“The Samsung Bespoke Jet delivers fantastic cleaning power and an eye-catching design, but at a price point that feels out of reach for most.”

The world has reached a point where the last thing any of us seemingly want to do is empty a dust bin.

Self-emptying stick vacuums. Self emptying-robot vacuums. They’re everywhere, and while they’re convenient, I’m not sure the feature is that much of a selling point. I’d rather see a vacuum with enough suction power that I only have to go over the floor once. I can empty my own dust bin.

Samsung sent the Bespoke Jet Cordless Stick Vacuum to me for review. I’ve used it for a few weeks now to great results. It delivers on all counts: great at cleaning, comfortable enough to use for extended periods, and — this is the big one — it also empties itself. Everything I could ask for in a stick vacuum.

But how does it stack up overall? It’s a solid piece of machinery that definitely has an aesthetic flair, but it’s brought down by the price point and the relatively short battery life.

Samsung Bespoke Jet design: It’s got that mid-century modern Jetsons-chic

Since this vacuum is part of Samsung’s Bespoke line, it. should come as no surprise that a lot of consideration was put into its design. This isn’t meant to be stashed away in some closet and only brought out when it’s time to vacuum; the Bespoke Jet looks to earn a spot in plain view.

The Bespoke Jet mounted in its stand.

A sturdy base with a single, relatively thin connecting beam hoists the body of the vacuum into the air. The base itself is balanced so there’s no risk of it tipping, even though it looks like it should. It’s for more than looks, too; the bag rests inside the main body of the stand. Anytime you dock the vacuum, it automatically empties into it.

The Bespoke Jet earns a spot in plain view.

The vacuum itself maintains the same color accents, but it ultimately just looks like a vacuum cleaner. There’s not much to say there. The only difference is that the Bespoke Jet has great color accents: either black and gold like the one I have, white and gold for the Misty White color option, or blue and silver for the Midnight Blue option.

Competitors to the Bespoke Jet, like the LG CordZero All-in-One, store accessories right beside the vacuum in doors that swing out. The Bespoke Jet includes a handy little accessory rack, but I found myself wishing it had built-in storage. While the rack is a nice addition, it’s yet another thing that takes up space on the floor, but is too small to really fit anywhere.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet accessory rack on the floor.

It did get stashed away out of sight. I only sought it out when I needed a tool for cleaning.

Samsung Bespoke Jet tools and accessories: plenty to go around

The accessory stand is nice. It doesn’t look bad; it’s just the wrong size for what it is. It falls into some weird limbo between small enough to easily store and large enough to display alongside the vacuum itself. That said, it does come with a handy set of tools.

The Bespoke Jet will likely have its standard, telescoping cleaning tool on it at all times. It’s the go-to for cleaning the floor, after all. The rack holds the crevice tool, a flexible extension tool, a brush tool, and a dedicated pet tool. The pet tool is great for getting cat hair off furniture, but I also found it to be one of the best ways to clean the stairs. It’s small enough to be flexible.

The most important accessory, though, is the extra battery pack. You can keep it charged and swap it out easily when your main battery goes dead.

The accessory rack also has a handle at the top for easily picking it up and moving it around the house as needed.

Samsung Bespoke Jet cleaning: strong enough suction that I feared for my carpet

The main event, and the key to any good vacuum cleaner, is how powerful its suction is. It has to be able to get even ground-in dirt out of carpet or suck up debris from hardwood floors (something I find many vacuums struggle with).

The Bespoke Jet delivers. It definitely delivers. I used it in its different cleaning modes on a space that should probably get vacuumed a little more often, but is often neglected: my upstairs loft.

The first time I vacuumed, I used the Minimum setting. It’s by far the quietest, but the least powerful. It did an okay job, but left me feeling like it could have done a lot more. I repeated the process with Medium and Max modes. Since the Bespoke Jet has a clear dust bin, I could see more and more material accumulating inside it, even as I vacuumed the same space multiple times.

The Bespoke Jet LED display showing 42 minutes.

Max Mode is probably the best option for finding a balance between cleaning power and battery life. Each successive mode uses that much more battery, and the LED display on top of the vacuum indicated a shorter overall runtime as I swapped between the modes.

Then there’s Jet Mode.

I turned it on, and felt physical resistance as I tried to push the vacuum forward due to the level of suction. It’s the loudest, too, but it definitely cleans. I could see a tremendous difference in the floor after running over it with Jet Mode, but it comes at a cost.

Jet Mode had me reaching for the stapler to secure the carpet.

The battery life drains like water out of a sieve. Look at it this way: On the Minimum setting, the display told me I had 42 minutes of cleaning time left. On Jet Mode, I had eight minutes left. Both of these were within seconds of one another on a fully-charged battery.

Samsung says the Bespoke Jet can get up to 120 minutes of runtime, but even the lowest setting only gave an estimate of 42 minutes. And honestly? You’re wasting your time with the lowest setting. It’s good for light touch-ups or for cleaning up spills, but if you’re going to take the time to vacuum anyway, give it a thorough clean.

I ran into a few issues with the self-emptying bin, too. It did a fine job of pulling all the debris out of the vacuum. It didn’t do such a good job of shutting the vacuum afterwards; I had to apply what felt like an undue amount of force to snap it into place.

Samsung Bespoke Jet: other features

There are a lot of handy little features to the Samsung Bespoke Jet that speak to the thoughtfulness of its design. For example, the Flex Tool. It’s useful for vacuuming flat areas above your head, like the top of a cabinet. The telescopic pipe also has enough flexibility to reach deep under couches, though you might have to do a bit of what I’ve dubbed “cleaning yoga” to get there. It’s like hot yoga, but you’re only sweating because you clean the house.

The Bespoke Jet leaning against a table.

The entire vacuum is only 5.7 pounds, which isn’t bad at all. Even older family members could use it without worrying much about the weight. The dust bin is also fully removable and washable, which will become a necessity. Fine grains of dust find their way into nooks and crannies that won’t be cleared out when the Bespoke Jet empties out the dust bin.

I mostly appreciated the 5-layer filtration system. That’s the sort of technical specification that’s harped on by marketing teams, but is rarely applicable in reality. I found that the Bespoke Jet did a fine job of capturing dust particles and not spreading them. The way I could tell was simple: I didn’t sneeze nearly as much while vacuuming as I do with lower-end machines, like the Wyze Cordless Vacuum.

The included washable micro filter helps extend the lifespan of the vacuum, too. There’s just a certain annoyance that comes with spending upwards of $100 to replace the filter in something, whether that’s a vacuum cleaner or an air purifier.

Therein lies the biggest obstacle to this vacuum: the cost. While it performs admirably in everything it does, it’s hard to stomach the $900 price tag. That’s a lot of money to spend on a vacuum cleaner, even one that looks as good as this.

I can’t help but feel the Bespoke Jet cashes in on its brand. Despite the ample cleaning power, thoughtful design, and convenience, I can’t recommend a vacuum at that price point, especially when the costs of other goods are also on the rise. This is a great vacuum cleaner, but it’s not a $900 vacuum cleaner. If you can snag it on sale for $650, or even $700, that’s a more appropriate price point.

The Bespoke Jet is a great machine, and a truly powerful cleaning tool, but it should get more cleaning time on its highest settings. The aesthetic appeal of the vacuum isn’t enough to raise the price to that point. If I have a vacuum out in the living room, I would want it to look good, but I’m not going to put a vacuum on display because it looks good. In the end, it’s still a tool.

Rabbits in Greenville County diagnosed with Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease

September 18, 2022 by Staff Reporter

September 15, 2022September 15, 2022

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type-2 (RHDV2) has been detected for the first time in South Carolina after animal health authorities were alerted to a sudden die-off of feral rabbits at a homestead in Greenville County.

The Clemson University Veterinary Diagnostic Center tested the rabbits in Columbia, and the diagnosis was confirmed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS).

The surviving rabbits at the location have been quarantined and animal health authorities have asked the owners to contain them in hutches to avoid further spread and to prevent further contact with wild rabbits.

“RHDV2’s mortality rate is 70 percent or higher. Our goal at this point is to do what we can to prevent the virus from spreading into the wild rabbit population and potentially further infecting domesticated rabbits,” said Michael Neault, State Veterinarian and director of Clemson University Livestock Poultry Health (LPH).

Clinical signs of the virus include sudden death, anorexia, lethargy, conjunctivitis, respiratory signs, and bloodstained noses or mouths.

RHDV2 is a highly contagious Calicivirus that affects domestic rabbits, wild or feral rabbits and hares. The virus is shed by infected rabbits and transmitted through direct contact, bedding, water, feed, hay and other materials used in the care and feeding of rabbits. It can also be spread by insects and human contact.

RHDV2’s mortality rate is 70 percent or higher.

While RHDV2 does not impact human health, it has a high fatality rate among domestic and wild rabbits, and has become endemic in the Western U.S. There is no live test for RHDV2.

“The introduction of RHDV2 to wild rabbits in South Carolina poses a serious threat to wild populations and has contributed to significant mortality events in the western United States. It is important that we do what we can to prevent contact between infected feral rabbits and wild rabbits,” said Will Dillman, Assistant Chief of Wildlife for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

The USDA recommends the following biosecurity practices:

  • Do not allow pet or wild rabbits to have contact with your rabbits or gain entry to the facility or home.
  • Do not allow visitors in rabbitries or let them handle pet rabbits without protective clothing (including coveralls, shoe covers, hair covering and gloves).
  • Always wash hands with warm soapy water before entering your rabbit area, after removing protective clothing and before leaving the rabbit area.
  • Do not introduce new rabbits from unknown or untrusted sources. Do not add rabbits to your rabbitry from animal shelters or other types of rescue operations.
  • If you bring outside rabbits into your facility or home, keep them separated from your existing rabbits for at least 30 days. Use separate equipment for newly acquired or sick rabbits to avoid spreading disease.
  • Sanitize all equipment and cages moved on or off premises before they are returned to the rabbitry. It is recommended to disinfect with 10% bleach or 10% sodium hydroxide mixed with water (follow cleaning label instructions).
  • Establish a working relationship with a veterinarian to review disease prevention and containment practices (biosecurity) to decrease risk to healthy rabbits.

Additional information and biosecurity recommendations can be found by visiting the Clemson LPH Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus webpage.

Rabbit owners are encouraged to discuss vaccination options with their veterinarian.

If your rabbit becomes ill or dies and you suspect RHDV2, please contact your veterinarian.

Veterinarians can submit samples for testing by contacting the Clemson Veterinary Diagnostic Center at 803-726-7831.

Concerns about wild rabbits should be directed to SC Department of Natural Resources: Michael Hook; 803-734-3940; [email protected]

Cattle hoof trimmer taking power from the anti-farming community

September 18, 2022 by Staff Reporter

That’s Farming editor, Catherina Cunnane, in conversation with Antony Thomas (30), aka Keepingcowsmoovin, from Cornwall, UK, in this week’s Career Focus series.

“Farming is in my blood on both sides of my family as far back as anyone can remember.

I remember being as young as four, following cows up the road after they had finished morning milking while my dad/grandad led from the front.

They milked a small herd of 80 or so, and my sister, our cousins and I were always encouraged to get involved. For as long as I can remember, I have loved cows.

It started as a young lad on my dad’s lap in a tractor and watching my grandad milk cows. My journey through farming has led me to develop a passion for looking after cows’ hooves daily.

I have always had a passion for agriculture, but it increased massively when I worked on a dairy farm in my early 20s.

The farm manager and owner were both hugely passionate about cow comfort and fuelled my passion for the dairy industry and farming as a whole.

Cattle hoof trimmer

I do not currently farm, but I carved a career in the agricultural industry as a cattle hoof trimmer, and now I run my own business.

My primary responsibilities are lameness management on multiple dairy and beef herds in my area.

I do my best to help all my customers reduce their lameness via routine trimming using the wide model level 4 method and the Dutch method run by Francy Burns from Eko Hoof Care, out with you guys in Ireland.

Our main objective is to train our farmers to detect early lameness or use regular mobility scorers to accurately detect the early signs of lameness.

We then run routine trims at dry-off and 60-100 days post-calving to keep cows as productive as possible.

Typical working day

A typical day looks something like this, so I wake up and have a coffee… always!

Then, I leave home between 5.30 and 6.30 am and then set off on journeys of anything up to an hour or so.

Then, I pick up a co-worker en route, and we trim anything from 40-100+ cows.

They are mainly routine trims with a sprinkling of lameness within them which tend to be the things I showcase on my social media platforms as they generally spark the public’s interest the most.

Then we wash off, disinfect and either go to another farm, or I head home and go to the gym.

I work within Cornwall and Devon and cover a radius of up to 75-100km. I completed the Dutch Diploma nine years ago and the RAU level 4 more recently in February 2020.

Fd (5)

Links with Ireland

I speak with many Irish hoof trimmers and order most of my materials through Irish companies. Also, I am on the National Association of Cattle Foot Trimmers (NACFT) with Francy Burns, who runs the Dutch Diploma and multiple other skill-level courses in Ireland.

I started my cattle as a cattle foot trimmer by accident nine years ago when the hoof trimmer on the farm, where I was employed became a farm manager and stopped trimming. So, it just so happened that I took over from him.

It was, in a way, a case of me being in the right place at the right time, and it was the best decision I have ever made.

My passion for the industry and bovine welfare has grown day-in-day-out ever since that day.

Social media

As I mentioned, I am active on social media and post under the Keepincowsmoovin handle on TikTok and Instagram and then Keeping Cows Moving on Facebook and YouTube for my new longer-form content.

I post content about my day-to-day goings-on, so sometimes, a satisfying routine trim.

Then, sometimes it might be an unexpected discovery in a cow’s hoof or some sort of stone that has caused insane amounts of damage. Other than that,     I post hoof baths and general farm things that I find interesting.

YouTube is my smallest follower-wise at under 1,000, but I have over 36,000 Facebook likes, over 45,000 Instagram followers and just under 735,000 on TikTok, where my content has gained over 20 million likes.

The location of my followers, especially on TikTok, is vast and includes Africa, Asia, America and Europe mostly.

I doubt there is a country that has access to the app where I do not have at least one follower in. It blows my mind how it has all happened.

I think people find it interesting mainly because it is a world that most people are so far away from.

I try and tie in my videos with appropriate music. For example, choosing a sad song for a video on a sad which tells people how they should feel from the first moment.

Then, if I have a great trim of a healed hoof, I select an upbeat track to again show my viewers that it is a positive, happy moment. It helps people understand the story of the cow and exactly what is going on.

I think that tying in music with content can spark engagement and, of course, posting things that people more than likely have never seen. The fact cows get ‘pedicures’ is something that most people seem to be surprised by.

I want to take the power out of the hands of the anti-farm community by showcasing what we do to the widest of audiences.

I get 20 million views a month across my social platforms, and 99.999% of the reaction I get from that is hugely positive. It takes the power out of the hands of the extremists by showcasing the reality of what 99% of the farming community does for their animals.

Looking ahead, I potentially have a new crush coming in the next twelve months to run alongside my current one.

Fdfd (33)

Future

I hope it will streamline my business and stop farmers from occasionally waiting so long to have me come in and tend to their animals.

In five years, I see myself still crazy busy trimming cows but hopefully giving myself a tad more free time to spend with my family.

I still want to showcase to the world the remarkable things farmers do for their animals.

Also, hopefully, I will run a few more training days and work with dairy buyers to demonstrate the quality of animal welfare we can have with up-to-date hoof care protocols throughout the UK. All in all, my ultimate goal is zero lameness.

If you love what you do- jump in with two feet and go for it. Farming is not a job; it is a massive lifestyle choice, and your job has to be your passion!

Future of agriculture: I see the supermarkets taking a closer look at welfare and bringing in stricter protocols on how we manage farms. Hoof care will become a must-have and will have to be done by a fully qualified and checked hoof trimmer.”

Family spends holiday cleaning flood-hit home

September 17, 2022 by Staff Reporter

KOTA KINABALU: It was a public holiday. But Penampang native Joeffrin Likius spent the long weekend busy cleaning up debris and mud from his house.

The latest round of floods in his village, Kampung Kodou in Sugud, Penampang district, on Wednesday, which was triggered by hours of continuous heavy rain, was not as bad as the one that hit it on Sept 15 last year.

But it was enough to leave the villagers in a state of despair as the floodwaters inundated a number of homes, costing the residents substantial damages to their properties.

“This is not the Malaysia Day celebration my family and I were thinking of,” said the 43-year-old self-employed Joeffrin, referring to the clean-up he had to do on Friday.

“Last year’s flood was more destructive as four feet of water and mud came into our house compared to some two feet this time, but we are feeling the strain as we are still busy cleaning up now,” he added.

Joeffrin said his relatives who were residing further downhill suffered more damages after their cars were almost submerged by the water.

He said he suffered losses worth thousands of ringgit last year when four cars belonging to him and his family were either severely damaged or washed away by the floodwaters, not to mention the damages to their other properties.

The father of one said that while he was thankful that no one from his family was hurt, they were worried about when the next big flood was going to hit.

He said Sugud was hit by floods six times last year, and added that the worst was on Sept 15.

“This is the first flooding here this year. We don’t know how much longer we can stand this.

“All we can do now is to watch the Sugud River closely whenever it rains to see if the water level rises.

“What else can we do or say? We just hope the government will complete the river widening project as soon as possible,” Joeffrin said.

Another villager who declined to be named said the state government should make the flood mitigation project a top priority as the villagers were already fed up with the situation, which seemed like an annual predicament.

Kapayan state representative Jannie Lasimbang said in a statement that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his deputy Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan should explain the reason for the delay in disbursing the RM9mil funds for Phase 3 of the Penampang Sugud River flood mitigation project.

Lasimbang said flooding in Sugud and Maang in the district had become a major issue for residents.

“Every time it rains, the river water will overflow and cause flooding,” she added.

She said the recent Sept 14 floods in Sugud not only caused damages to properties but residents also experienced water and electricity supply interruptions as well as mental stress.

EXTENSION NEWS: Cleaning products you can make at home | Columns

September 17, 2022 by Staff Reporter

You can make just about any clean product from three ingredients: lemons, baking soda and vinegar. This can save you money and help protect our environment as well.

Lemons

Lemons are acidic, that is had antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties. Plus, it can cut grease, dissolve soap scum and hard water deposits and can be mixed with baking soda and vinegar to make a cleaning paste. Lemon juice is also very effective for removing stains from countertops and for cleaning copper and brass, especially if you add a little salt to the mix.

Vinegar

Vinegar is another effective cleaning agent and disinfectant and can be used as an all-purpose cleaner by combining one part vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle. If you don’t like the smell, you can mellow it by adding lemon juice.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a universal cleanser. You can use it in your dishwasher, on your counter tops, on bathroom tile, even in the toilet. You can use it to freshen and unclog drains, as a furniture polish, to clean pots and pans and microwaves and as a deodorizer for the refrigerator, garage, shoes, laundry, and almost anything else. You can even brush your teeth with it.

All-Purpose Cleaner

Make a solution of 1/3 cup of baking soda, ½ cup of vinegar, and 1 gallon of hot water to clean grease and grime as well as eliminate odor.

Unclogging and Freshening Drains

Option 1: Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain followed by 1 cup of hot vinegar. Try heating the vinegar in the microwave before adding to the drain. Wait 5 minutes before flushing the drain with 2 quarts of hot water. You can repeat this process a few times if it is necessary. If this is the first time you have cleaned your drain in a long time it may be necessary to repeat the baking soda and flush a few times.

Option 2: Try pouring 1 cup of baking soda and ½ cup of salt down the drain. Let the mixture sit in the drain for several hours, overnight is best, before flushing the drain with 2 cups of boiling water

Clean the microwave oven

Mix a few tablespoons of baking soda with water in a microwave safe cup. Boil in the microwave for a few minutes. The insides of the microwave will be damp and easy to clean with a paper towel or dishcloth. This has the added benefit of removing odors that may be clinging to your microwave oven.
